Alanna Cruz-Bendezu
Medical School: George Washington University
I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I went to undergrad at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Biological Basis of Behavior and minoring in Cinema Studies. I have been in DC since 2018! I went to medical school at GW and was fortunate to stay for residency. My urology interests include general urology and female urology. In my free time you can find me working out, playing volleyball, watching Survivor, or visiting your nearest bakery in DC for some sweet treats!
Sean Tafuri
Medical School: California Northstate University
I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I competed in gymnastics my entire life, which granted me a Division I scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I graduated with a degree in Nutrition Science. I returned home to California for medical school and graduated from California Northstate University College of Medicine. I was drawn to Urology during medical school because of the complex anatomy and procedures in the field. Moreover, I enjoyed working with all the wonderful people who make up the specialty. I appreciate the opportunity that Urology gives me to create a safe space for my patients to feel comfortable addressing difficult topics. In addition to my M.D., I also have an F.D. (Foodie Degree). Outisde the OR, you can find me trying new restaurants all over town. When I'm not eating my way through D.C., I'm likely attending a cycling class or snowboarding in the mountains.

Noah Panitch
Medical School: SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University
I was born and raised in central New Jersey and then moved to NYC to complete my undergrad studies at NYU before attending SUNY Downstate for medical school. I love living in DC now, and appreciate all the greenery and parks, great restaurants, museums, and history. You may even spot me taking a joy ride on my electric scooter in Georgetown. In my other free time, I enjoy reading and writing, doing the crossword, practicing the circus arts, and working out. Within urology, my interests currently include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, as well as voiding dysfunction.
Michael Wynne
Medical School: George Washington University
I grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and later attended Wake Forest University for undergrad. Go Deacs! I went to medical school at GW, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue training here. I love all things outdoors, especially when it involves being on the water - golfing, fishing, wakeboarding, and scuba diving are a few of my favorites. I also enjoy watching college sports, lifting weights, running around DC, and playing guitar in my free time. Within urology my main interests include urologic oncology, endourology and general urology.

John Fastenau
Medical School: Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
I grew up in New Jersey and attended Rutgers New Brunswick, where I graduated with degrees in Biology and Spanish. Throughout undergrad and medical school, I spent my free time distance running and skiing. I’ve been skiing all along the Ice Coast and hope to ski out West and Europe in the near future. I love living in the DMV, and I can’t wait to continue exploring the area!

I am from the DMV area and attended Johns Hopkins University where I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Film and Media Studies. I graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and am thrilled to be staying in Washington D.C. for my urology residency at GW! In my free time I enjoy reading, running, and painting.
Brandon Waddell
Medical School: George Washington University.
I’m originally from Greeneville TN, a small rural town outside of Knoxville. I completed undergrad at Rhodes College where I majored in Neuroscience. During college, I worked as a medical assistant at a local urology practice and fell in love with the field and the breadth of pathology we treated. I became even more enthralled during medical school (thanks to the wonderful department here at GW) and was lucky enough to match here. As of now, my main interests are Reconstructive and General Urology. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, exploring what DC has to offer, traveling, and spending time with my wife and our two pups. I also collect soccer sports cards, a hobby I picked up during medical school!

Sadie Lewis
I grew up in New Jersey and later attended Skidmore College, where I studied mathematics. I then earned my medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, and I am excited to continue my training as an urology resident at George Washington University. Outside of medicine, I enjoy skiing, hiking, making pottery, and spending time with family and friends. Within urology, my main interests include general urology, complex stone disease, and endourology.
Kirolos Youssef
I was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and later moved to Clearwater, FL. I completed my undergrad degree at the University of South Florida, where I majored in Biochemistry/Biotechnology with a minor in Nutrition. I went to medical school at GW and am so thrilled to continue my training in the nation’s capital! My current interests include Endourology, Reconstructive, and General Urology. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants in the DMV, lifting weights, and traveling.
